Default Fuel pump wiring diagram symbols

Hi all. I am new here, trying to trace my fuel pressure issues using the wiring diagram. Could someone please help me understand what the "M", "P", and "E" symbolize? Thanks!

M is the fuel pump motor - P and E are the left and right fuel level senders.

That diagram is for a car that does not have a fuel pressure sensor on the end of the fuel rail - and as such does not have a fuel pump controller, or also known as a PEM.

Thanks hoonk. The PEM is found throughout the wiring diagram I have. I already replaced it, to no avail, since it is a cheap fix.

It's odd. No pressure at rail and fuel filter. But I can hear pump activity. Not going to throw parts at it. Need to trace the issue.
