Help with radio and headed rear screen
I have just purchased my Volvo S60 on a 2003 Plate.
I am experiencing a dramatic loss of signal on my radio when I use the rear screen heater. I have heard that this could either be a bad earth or a broken element on the heater.
I have checked the heater element and there is no visual breaks noticable.
The two aerial amps in the D pillar and rear bumper are difficult to get to. The D pillar cover also houses a airbag so I am unsure of how to remove this without setting it off.
Am I looking in the right area or does this problem lye elsware?
Also if I have to remove the D pillar cover how do you do this?
Any insight will be much appreciated.
Thanks

RE: Help with radio and headed rear screen
i have an s60... i wish i could help but i dont listen to the radio.. lol.. honestly i would say its jsut one of those things its possible the rear window heater since its kinda a dead short mechanism to create heat is causing some interference ... has it always done this.. the antena box is located in the right side of the trunk.. you just turn that little **** and that panel folds down as if you are getting to the tail light bulbs.. the box is located strait down in the fender well close to the bumper.

RE: Help with radio and headed rear screen
I've got the same issue, but never thought anything about it - when I have the rear defrost on, I either switch to CD or find a radio station with a stronger signal. (Or plan ahead and leave the car to warm up so the rear window is clear before I get in.)
