holy stuttering volvos batman
I recently purchased a 2000 S60T and am happy with the car except while at cruising revs, say 2000 to 2500 rpm, the car will intermittently stutter. By this I mean that the car seems to lose power for fractions of a second. This problem is not always noticable, but can last for minutes at at time over the journey. The stutter can also be noticed when cruising uphill at low speed, between 2000 and 3000 rpm. My wife likens it to a hesitant driver taking their foot off the accelerator for a fraction of a second four or five times in a row. I have taken it to the mechanic and his diagnostic machine detected nothing. HELP!!!!!
Yeah your throttle body might be going bad. It is about a $1k cost to replace it, also it is a Volvo dealership only replacement. Only a Volvo dealer can replace it.
This seems to be alot more common then I thought. People are making the same comments on 2 other forums. I personally just got my car back from the dealer with the same issue which they fixed perfectly, I dont have the work order from me right now, but i'll get it tonight when I get home to give you details. But as I can remeber it had to do with a turbo valve.
Thanks for the tip it really paid off. Without the info it would probably have taken my dealer even longer than the month it took to fix the problem. They call it a throttle module here but i suppose its the same thing. if it is i saved $1k u.s. they replaced it free of charge here in oz.
thanks again for the heads up
