Default how difficult to replace blower motor??

Hi guys,

I posted about recently needing to get my alternator replaced after it blew on me after work the other night...

This other problem I've been having is I get a very loud whistling noise coming from inside the glove compartment. I asked my mechanic when he was doing the alternator, to take a look at that, and he said it is indeed the blower motor. It can make a very loud whistling nose at times when I am driving, and it has gotten worse over the past few months.

I am wondering if this is something I can replace on my own? In full disclosure I am not close to being a mechanic. But I have seen some prices for blower motors for around $100. So i could save myself a good chuck of $$. What are your thoughts? And what tools do I specifically need.

My car is a 2002 S60.

Thanks!
Pete

I followed instructions and it was easy to do. One exception was one screw close to the carpet that i had to find my angle wrench. If I had that to start it woulda been much less painfull!lol About 1.5hrs while drinking beer.

Haha that's good to know. Where did you get the directions? Does anyone else have a list of tools they can give me I will need as well?
Thank you!
Pete
