Ok so I am looking to get an 2004 s60r but since I dont know anything about volvos I have a few questions. I am looking at getting the car at about under 90k miles. So my questions are. Is the car reliable? How expensive is oil changes and regular maintenance. I believe I can do most of the regular maintenance myself. Reason why i want to get an s60r is because AWD and also the seem very luxurious. Also i like the style. Also any advice will be awesome as to what to look when I am checking out a potential buy and what are the common problems. Any advice or information will be greatly appreciated.

I think you'll like the S60 R. I don't know of any common problems. If you will change the oil yourself, they will be the cost of oil and filter (maybe 6 quarts).

 

Well I just bought my first S60 R and it too is an 04 and has 92,000 miles. Oil changes are standard, just with a synthetic or synthetic blend, I'm having my shocks replaced but be fair warned, the cheapest i found was $315 a piece....they are electronically controlled and dont go to the dealer, they will charge way too much (i think they wanted 734 a piece) uhh otherwise the car is pretty technologic heavy so anything that needs to be replaced might cost a bit extra, the gas milage is decent, i get about 16 in the city and u gotta use premium. Otherwise i love the six speed manual trans and the stock 15 lbs of boost is nice as well. anyother questions let me know, i basically have the same car...
