Default I need to stop this message "Time for regular service"

Hi all,

Just a week ago, I started getting this message "Time for regular service". I'm gonna take my volvo to the service BUT in a month I'm moving to another area where I'm almost certain that there are no Volvo dealers to service it in the future (wierd hah!).

So I need a way to stop this message when it next appears so does anybody know how?

Search and there are 100 threads on different procedures to remove it.

My memory says to turn key to No 1 position, depress Odometer button move key to No2 (don't start it thouogh that's no 3), and wait for audible beep. May take a few times. Eventually it will remove it. After beep you have like 5 seconds to end the procedure.

copied and pasted from another thread

Switch ignition OFF.
Press and hold the trip reset button. Switch ignition ON.
Keep the button depresseduntil the service light starts to flash (approx 10 secs).
Release the reset button within 4 seconds. There will be an audible signal when the reset is complete and the service indicator will go out. If the reset button is not released within 4 seconds the service indicator will stop flashing but will not be reset.

This is for resetting the "Service" light. I'd imagine it would also reset a routine service message on the text screen, though I've never gotten one.

There are some great instructions here: http://www.volvo-forums.com/t416-res...ed-message.htm

It's a "sticky" post on the s60 board at volvo-forums.com

I used the sticky post above and after about 4 tries it worked! I've been trying to get my mechanic to remove that message for over a year. Thx!
