Default Idle issue

Hi Everyone,

I'm a noob, so be patient...

I just bought a used 2003 S60 with a manual transmission. I've noticed that as I'm driving, when I put the car is neutral as I approach a stop light, the RPMs drop to around 500. When the car fully stops, the RPMs go back up to around 900. It is rather strange, I think. Does anyone have any ideas?

I searched the forum for this issue and I didn't see it exactly. I hear about throttle body problems, so perhaps this is the issue? Or is the behavior normal?

Thanks to everyone!

I would try cleaning the throttle body first and see if that helps.
