When I purchased my S60 I didn't receive a keyless entry remote. After checking the price of a new one ($150-200), I decided to look for used. I've been told mixed things on this.
One is that Volvo is the only one that can program a remote to my car. After speaking with Volvo they said I needed all the original packaging for the remote and all the codes otherwise they couldn't program it.
People selling the used remote say that's BS and they can do it without all the codes and pins.
Anyone have an opinion on this...

The Dealer is telling you the truth. The people selling the used ones are the ones lying. You need the original package or all the numbers that were on it.
