A couple questions. First, is there any way to switch on and off the puddle lights in the side mirrors without the remote when the car is running? I think It would make a nice photo. I also wanted to install the clear headlight lenses of the newer S60s on my 03, which has the refractorey ones. Is that possible? I don't know what E-Code means, but I imagine it has something to do with European lighting standards for motor vehicles. I was curious if the E-Code lenses have clear turn signals integrated into the headlight lens rather then orange? I think that would look nicer than orange and would like to change. Is that possible?

I also wanted to know if there is any way to:
1. Have the rear windows roll down all the way, instead of just 3/4....to get rid of the child safety thingy as I have no kids...
2. Install one touch up/down switches for the rear windows both on the driver window panel and in the back seat. I've seen Jettas with that, which I would like to have.

For the rear windows yes, theres a stopper you can remove, you have to remove the door panels and remove it..

no on the one touch up/down.

And as for the approach lights, only with the remote..

 

If I remove the stopper, is there anything else I have to do?

Also, can I change to the clear headlight lenses? Can I change the orange thing in the lens to clear for the turn signal?

 

Oh, I didn't know this about the stopper. That's interesting, I'll need to try this ASAP, I'd like to be able to roll the bakc windows all the way down for when i have ppl back there. If you can put your arm out of the window, the back seat doesnt feel quite as small as it is.

has anyone ever upgraded their foglights to HID? Have you tried LED bulbs in the taillights??

 

A lot of people have put HID's in their fog lights. 3000K is the Kelvin temp that you would want for your HID fog lights. Nothing more then 3000K. These are truly mainly for looks as they are just about as good maybe a little better then your stock setup now. And if you get HID headlights, foglights wont even be needed. Trust me on that one.

Are you planning HID headlights as well? If so 4500k-6000k is what you want. 4500 produces the most LUMENS. Meaning produces the most light output. Because the higher you go in the Kelvin temps for HID's the less light output is produced. The only thing you get with higher K is a different color, BLUE and PURPLE. So 4500K-6000K is what you want for HID headlights.

LED's have been tried in taillights and from what I gather it is a bitch to do. Because they are not as bright as the OEM setup and you would have to use many many LED's and circuit them all together and everything else as well. I think there are some brighter LED's on the market but I don't know if anyone has used them yet.
