Loose wire with sensor(?) under V60 drivers side seat
Hello - new to this amazing looking Volvo forum and new to Volvo. I recently purchased a 2013 R-design V60 and I noticed a wire with a brown cylindrical sensor or button on the end of it which was flapping about under the drivers seat (see orange arrow in photo). I don't know what it is but from digging around online I wondered if it might be from the WHIPS system?? Or maybe it is something else completely?? The wire has some small plastic fittings around it (see red arrow in photo) which look like they should hold it in place somewhere. I can't work out where it might reattach. Can anyone tell me what this is, and if it just needs to be clipped back in place somewhere? I can't tell if it should run forwards or backwards and I can't find any kind of housing which it might attach to.
Really grateful for any help anyone could offer. The wire has a a label with the following on it: Part number: 2296786; KSME: 562583 0 005; WH SEAT FRONT MEC... But I can't find this part number online. Orange arrow = sensor? Red Arrow = attachment for somewhere? Close up of the label leading to this wire
It used to connect to the pyrotechnic seat belt retractor, which was removed for a recall. The button is a resistor so the SRS light doesn't come on for the retractor being disconnected.
