Default Loss of Engine Oil in extreme fast way

S60 T5 (MY2005), the car is great and everything is fine, except intermediate block leaked...

I tired to clean my floor everyday and thus I just done my general overhaul in last 2 months and adjusting the timing belt about 1 month ago.

I loss crazy volume of engine after adjust the timing belt....

1) 2 days trip 800km - loss of engine oil about 1 liter;
2) 3 weeks and drove 270km - loss of engine oil about 1 liter
3) today top up till MAX and drove about 30km, it loss about 100ml...

I am going crazy soon.... no white smoke from tail pipe... no oil on my floor... i have no cues where are the oil gone?

I checked with my mechanic who overhaul my engine and he shown innocent to me .... he is not Volvo specialist... He said maybe piston or turbo problem, but he did not open the piston section at all during oeverhaul.

Is anyone who has similar experience could give me advice about what to check.... I cannot afford the $$$ and energy to check and top up the engine oil like petrol

Pls help Pls help

It is not normal to need to adjust your timing belt at all. The cambelt(timing) tensioner does that itself.
I am thinking that maybe by manually tightening the tensioner (too tight) you have now put excessive strain on the camshaft pulleys and a camseal has blown as a result?

You need to remove the timing belt cover and visually locate where the leak is occurring. Will be the camshaft seals or possibly even the crankshaft seal at the bottom.
Need less to say with that much oil flying about you will soon break the timing belt and damage the motor so you need to act promptly.

Thank you for your input. I did few checking again this morning.

I start the engine this morning and no white smoke at all… then had a few heavy foots… still no white smoke…

I removed timing belt cover and turbo tube, they are both very clean. Bottom front is clean as well. Timing belt angle adjusted by volvo mechanic 1 month ago after the general overhaul, no oil leak from there.

No single drop of oil on floor anymore (2 months) after overhaul…

I think it is hard for me to notice the white smoke while I am driving…

I top up engine oil to max line by last Sat (19/10) morning, I checked just now again (21/10) after 80km drive… I am pretty sure that I loss about 0.5 cm from max line on the dipstick.

Guess you may be simply burning oil.
I have noted on posts on several forums that many S60's appear to burn oil once the mileages get up.
You could do a compression test to see if you may have worn rings on one or more cylinders, or even a leakdown test.
Whilst the plugs are out check the color of them and note if the pistons appear excessively oily or not.
Make sure your coolant reservoir is not contaminated with foamy oil sludge or has a coffee color indicative of a blown head gasket.
Have you noticed any tendency for blue smoke from the exhaust on accelerating after coasting down a steepish incline?

My problem might be resolved, i hope i would not pop up again

The last owner only used full sync 0/30 or 5/30 at volvo service center, i used 5/30 once i bought it. I changed to 5/40 full sync after overhaul....

My mechanic suggest me to try cheapest way to troubleshoot the loss oil problem before open the engine again.... I changed to SHELL semi sync 10/40... I am glad to tell that the loss of oil issue should be gone...

One of member who had V70 T5 (2003) has very similar experience... He is using 5/30 now... He tried full sync 5/40 in past... every time he to do the oil change he notice that 5/40 always loss about 2 liters... and he said 5/30 will not loss much at all.

I will switch back to 5/30 afterwards... right now 10/40 is running in engine... i feel not comfortable with semi sync..

Semi synthetic oil is fine.
You need to ensure however you keep up to date with your oil and quality oil filter changes to prevent any sludge build up and clogging of the PCV system.
The owners manuals for Volvo's specify standard mineral oil generally anyway but also endorse the use of more superior synthetic types, at the owners discretion obviously due to the higher cost.
