Low beam fails when engine runs
Vehicle: S60/2.5T, Year 2007; 92000 miles
For a week or so having the problem with passenger side low beam bulb.
After turning key in the ignition all lights work ok. After starting the engine, passenger side low beam bulb goes off after 1-2 seconds, and "Low Beam Bulb Failure" message appears. When I turn off the engine, light comes back and message disappears.
Occasionally (but very seldom) light will keep working even engine is on.
If anybody had the same problem and know how to fix it, please let me know.
Thanks,
Lela

I have a similar problem with my 2007 XC70. I got a low beam light message. The dealer replaced the bulb - didn't help. They said no power to the bulb-need to replace the harness. They estimate $1000.00!! While I'm thinking about it, the low beam light is coming on normal, real low or totally off.The low beam message is is also intrmittent. I'm told that Volvo has had an internal "campaign" to replace the harness. They won't do it for free now.
Has anyone had this experience with a solution other than a harness replacement. It sounds to me like an intermittent connection somewhere or a burnt wire. This my first reply to a thread and before I get someone to start trouble shooting, I wold like to hear from someone who has had this problem and and how they resolved it. Do I have to replace a $1,000 harness?
