Manufacture date
Hi can you help I have a S60 D5s 2003. I took my car to a garage for repair and because I have personalised plates I was asked that year is she. I said 2003 he looked at the window code and said no it is not it was made in 2002. I did not argue so I looked up the Vin number details it said manufacture date 2003. It was delivered in June 2003 with 7 miles on clock. Can any one explain this anomaly

there are several build plates in the car to tell you when it was manufactured, at which plant etc but as CM noted, many of the components have their own build dates to go with the factory part number. That's what the "matching numbers" thing is all about in the classic car restoration business. A numbers matching car uses only parts who's part number and source date is "correct" as it would have when the car left the factory.
