Default Map Sensor Location?

I have a 2002 Volvo S60 2.4 Non Turbo.

I have replaced the Mass Air Flow Sensor, Spark Plugs, Etc.....But I have been getting a code for a MAP Sensor...So I bought the part ($117) but
the only problem is, I don't know where to find the stupid thing! Can anyone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, describe to me in complete detail
where the MAP Sensor is located. I am going freaking nuts!

Thanks!

Default RE: Map Sensor Location?

This probably won't help but I tried searching for an image with the location and couldn't. This is the best I could find: "I believe the map sensor is right on the top of the intake manifold. It is part number 9125462 - about an $85 part. 5 minutes to install." Quoted from this thread: http://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/cha...d6b5490329462f.

Also, that part number matches up with PartsQuick and www.eEuroparts.com ($74 there, did you buy yours locally that you could return, wait a few days for it to come from eEuro and save about $40?).

Hope that helps...

Found this on another forum, it's for an S60 R, but might help....

"On the "driver's end" of the intake manifold there is a large brass fitting and hose. This is not it. But if you look "just around the corner" at the back of the plenum, that is the hose you want."

Default FOUND IT!

Okay, since i went so crazy over the part......for future reference, here is the location:

The 2002 Volvo S60 MAP Sensor is located:

If you are standing directly in front of the engine you will see a small hose run from the Fuel Rail (Fuel Rail is a metal bar attached to the front of the engine with a plastic cover on top and underneath you can see what looks like spark plug wires)

Anyway, Follow the hose from the Fuel Rail to the front of the car (Above the Radiator) and attached on the underside of the metal lip ( I don't know proper car terminology) you will see the hose run into the map sensor. it will be a small part with an electrical connector and a nipple for a hose. If you look on the other opposing side from where it is attached, you will see that a single bolt holds it on.

YEEEEAAAHAHAHHHAHAH!

Default RE: FOUND IT!

What was the reason for replacing the MAP sensor? Service engine light or driveability problems?
Thanks,
Lou

Default Map location.

2004 s60 map sensor..that's MAP....Manifold absolute pressure... sensor. This part has been considered the same but clearly two different parts , as a fuel pressure sensor. Sold everywhere as oem BOSCH... be aware.. I'm not trying to bash Bosch. It's just Simply that I've had a bad experience with buying a sensor ( electrical part, u own it ) I don't need. It was purchased from a large aftermarket parts store. IF you are dealing with a obd code p0106... MAP... sensor... make sure that is the correct part. So... this car the MAP... manifold absloute pressure..sensor is located under the front of the cars engine frame just above the radiator. When you put your hand in to release the " tab" to raise the hood.
. It's right there.. again underneath the frame of the engine compartment. One single bolt..a vacuum line directly to manifold.. again. If a p0106 code is thrown... check yr vacuumed lines...wow there are a lot... be patient.. my car didn't pass emmisions was ready to bury myself with the car... again be patient.. all is good finally
