power stage, map sensor...whats the difference?
does anybody know if there is a difference between a regular GM map sensor and a so called power stage? they both seem to be the same thing...is there any difference in maybe tha calibration or reading of the manifold pressure that these two give out..?
A power stage has nothing to do with vaccum. There is no vaccum line that goes to the power stage.
The power stage controls the ignition system.

I haven't tried as of yet.
Do they look 100% the same besides the metal cover?
Alot of GM parts were used on a lot of cars and just changed a little to be made their own.
Here is a story for you. My old Shop manager has a Lotus. The ignition module went bad. Lotus wanted $375.00 for the module.
When he looked at it it was just a GM ignition module that was glued to a peice of Alimunum.
The GM part at the local Parts srore it was $15.00.
