Misfire,stumbles,lack of power up hills
I wanted to share my experience with you. I had a light stumble when WOT. It got worse so I changed the plugs...but the factory plugs looked fine. After changing plugs the problem got really bad. It would not climb small hills and I was forced to come to a stop on the highway. Next, I installed all new coils and the problem was still critical. I was going to install new plugs after reading this car is picky on the plugs. So I had new plugs and when installing I noticed that the split loom that covers the wires to the coils was very hard and brittle. I removed the split loom and underneath the insulation on the wires to the coil were cracked and bare in a spots. Six wires in total were showing bare copper! I coated them with brush on electrical tape then wrapped them in electrical tape. Now it runs good again. . The location of this was no2 cylinder where the coil wires have a 180* turn. The other wires that were cracked went to the (i think)VVT solenoid. I hope this helps
