Very good milage with an NA. I have one (02) and I get 31 MPG repeatedly on the highway. City goes down naturally but not bad at around 22/25 MPG.
Easy car to change plugs on and to clean TB.

Iused to drive the 2.4 non turbo (2001).
City was around 20 mpg and motorway around 34 mpg (around 26 combined driving (almost 50% 50%)).
CurrentlyI drive the 2.4T 2001- travelling same route
City was around18 mpg and motorway around35 mpg (around25 combined driving (almost 50% 50%)).
Hope it helps.

I just wanted to add mine to the heap. I have the '01. For the most part I keep out of the gas as much as possible (cops here are major a$$es, and there's no such thing as getting off with a warning). My driving is 100% city - call it a curse. I had been getting 32 mpg during the warmer months. Now with the weather being cold I'm lucky to still get 26-27city. With my short commutes, $10 worth of gas will last me all week. A full tank can lastme a month.
I drive the2002 n/a with 95,000 miles on it and consistently get 29.1 miles per gallon which is about 50% highway (75 mph), 50% city. I always use 89 octane. I tooka trip to VA from FL at 80-85 mph with the AC on and got over 700 miles to the tank.
