my new s60 t5
Hey i picked up a s60 t5 with 100,000 miles and looking to see what power gains i could see from a tune ( not experienced at all with tuning) also completely stock as of right now and also would this maybe be a good car to build up.
what year is the T5? ECU tunes are widely available for the older T5s and generally are good for +40 HP. ECU tunes up the spark advance and increase the maximum boost so generally they require running 93 octane unless the product offers the ability to switch between programs. Anything more than 40 HP would require other parts like a larger downpipe etc to improve airflow. On the newer models Volvo does have some Polestar add ons.
I have a 2002 s60 T5 that the previous owner installed a BSR tune on. It is rated for 299HP, and the car certainly feels more pwoerful than other S60 cars that I drove while car shopping. I also have the 5 speed, so I get to enjoy the HP a little bit more.
