Hi i have a 2002 volvo s60 with 2.4 turbo engine. Car runs like it has only two cylinders running. I had codes checked and it said code 2111 throttle actuator control system- stuck open. Can you give me any advice on fixing this? Is the throttle opened by a cable or is it electronic? Can this be fixed by taking the throttle body off and just cleaning it? Do I have to reset anything on computer after cleaning or replacing throttle body? Thanks for your help.

2002 S60s are "drive by wire" cars meaning an electronic signal controls an "ETM" (electronic throttle mechanism). The early ETMs are a major problem area so I'd suggest you start by researching ETM fault symptoms. A good place to start would be to check out the Xemodex web site (they repair ETMs)
The other part that may be involved with your problem is the throttle position sensor / pedal position sensor. here's an old post that talks to this code...

A 2002T engine has the reliable bosch throttle module that rarely has problems. 99-01 and the 2002 non turbo cars (and pre 2005 c70's) use the "all will fail at some point" Magnetti Maerelli (sp) throttle module. Are you sure it's a 2002 with the bosch throttle module?
Both are drive by wire, cleaning and inspecting the throttle module would be a good first step, a replacement Bosch throttle is plug and play, and used ones work plug and play also. The earlier cars throttles are "programmed " to the VIN of the car and allegedly sometimes a used one will work. As another has mentioned look at xemodex.com for pictures of the 2 different brands and trouble shooting tips.
