New to the fourm and picking up my R in 2 days!
Hello everyone! I'm new to the fourm but have been trolling for the last few weeks as I finally made my decision to purchase a 07 R. After reading through the fourms it looks like just about anything can go wrong at one point or another, but I'd like you guys/gals input on what I should be looking out for "in general" for this car.
The car is an 07, 49k miles, I'm buying the CPO so I'm covered for another 51k over the next 3 years. The dealer has agreed to look at the timing belt and replace if their are any issue, as well as complete the 60k maint (plus ect) at no charge.
I've test driven the car - love it! My last "cool" car was a 90' Supra Turbo - obviously the R kills it!
Ok - so beyond the typical "make sure everything works, get a copy of the CPO, get the sales persons home address" things - anything I should be looking directly at?
also - Was looking at tirerack for the snows and rims. Can you guys look at these for me and tell me what you think?
http://www.tirerack.com/cart/Holding...shopTires=true
I'm in the North East, so we WILL get snow. I'd like to keep the price to around 1k (including rims). Should I have them mount and balance them? Are they hard to put on (I can change a tire)?
Alright - my thanks to everyone for reading and responses.
Can't wait to pick her up!

Well, if you are looking at rims, I personally am a big fan of the stock Volvo Pegassus rims.., so I would check out ipd and get a new set of four plus rubber.. ie. If you have the cash for new wheels

I personally would just swap the tyres on to the current rims and switch the tyres back when winter is over.. the difference in cost will be something like $800, I personally would put that money into either
1. Maintainance including amazing winter rubber
or
2. IPD ECU flash for the s60r.. After all, who doesn't want an extra 10-15% power!

Thanks Nicolas. I think I will just purchase the winter tires and swap the them out with the rims I have for now. As for the mods - Soon, lol have to get through the winter first!
Thanks a ton

I'm glad to hear it. I just picked up my '06 S60R and I'm also in love. I've been so excited every chance to drive it. I just wanna drive it all over and I would but it's snowing buckets out over the Sierras. The car is SO much fun, and is a perfect blend imo of performance, luxury, and safety!
