Default New rotors too big!

I just ordered all new rotors and pads from fcp groton but I ordered the larger brake rotor(12 inch i believe) I went to install them and the caliper doesnt mount up because the rotors too big. I thought i read a post before but I cant find it again, it mentions something about a caliper upgrade if you get the big rotors and they dont fit, anybody know anything about this ??any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance

I had the same problem with my '03, suppose to have bigger rotors with 16" wheels but that was not the case with our car. I just exchanged them for the smaller size.

+1 on the exchange. I measured mine before ordering.

So it wouldnt work if I bought calipers from a similar volvo that fits the 12 inch rotors? I figure the mounting holes would be the same. I live in toronto so I would like to avoid shipping the rotors back to exchange because im sure ill have to pay for the shipping and who knows they might give me another $105 shipping fee to cover the dutie fees and all that jazz.

The calipers are the same regardless. You can just get the larger caliper brackets. Check the dealer, but I think you can also order them from Autozone now. You must have 16" wheels or larger or it wont fit.

So which model comes equipped with the bigger caliper brackets. Because my car has 16 inch wheels but the small brackets so I imagine I would need to search under a different model to order the larger brackets?

It's hard to say. 15" wheels came standard equipment on the 2.4, but if the sport package was selected then it came with 16" wheels. 16" wheels were standard on the turbos, but the sport package came with 17s. I bet the brakes are left untouched in either case.

If you go to the dealer, the part number you want is 9492276. It will clear the 12" rotors and fit with the 16s you have.
