Default New s60. This is interesting

Just bought an 02 S60...love it!!

My cousin once showed me something like this on his car....he didnt have any warning lights but had some door lock codes stored or something. Is it possible to have DTCs without a warning light come on.

Looks like a scam to me...computers are generally easy to screw up. I would take it down to autozone or somewhere to get the codes read for free, or you could spend the $100 for the OBD-II reader, the s60 has a built in OBD reader, as well as the new models. Be weary of these scams !

Hi Guys,

Yikes.. Don't spent the $$. This is an easy one.

1. Start your car.
2. While holding the "read" button on your trip computer stalk, use your other hand and turn your rear foglight on/off a few times rapidly.

You should notice that your trip computer window changes. You can now cycle through several different messages using the "read" button. It will tell you if you have any DTC's set, etc. It also cycles through checking some of the electronic modules (CEM, UEM, DIM, etc)

I don't believe that you can get the actual DTC codes in the window....

Have fun!

I bought it last nite off ebay -- should have checked here first -- oh well, by the sound of things on this website, $7 is probably the least I will ever spend on a volvo, other than those air freshner thingys....anyhow, it is pretty cool, my car has a code in one of the modules, cant remember which one now but it wasnt one of the main ones...this methoddoesnt give you the DTC code but it is still helpful, and kinda neat, to see the computer check through the different modules and discover if there are any DTC's in the car. Are there any other hidden procedures like this one...im sure there are....like the service light reset!

I suppose u could always try to see if it works on an S80...

still lovin my S60!!

There is a hidden equalizer for the s60 and s80, its sick..... You have to power down and continue to hold the volume button, then hold down the source button, - do this for about 10 seconds then turn the power back on release the volume button but not the source button, this should open up a sub menu to change the variations in the speakers.... I was surprised at the many variations

You know... I tried this for about 17 minutes, and came up with nothing on my s60. What model HU do you have? I have a 613 and it didn't work.

Did anybody else try it?

Thanks
