AWD should be a turbo. If that is the case then you don't have to worry about the ETM. Yours will be a Bosch vs. the Magnetti-Marelli in the NA models. Getting close to time to change the timing belt. Also, look forward to ****ling problems with the electronics. Your owners manual will list items to be checked/changed at each service interval.

If you look around on here you can find the steps to turning the message off. The ETM problem was with 01 and 02 NA S60's. The ETM was too sensitive to carbon build up so it would go into limp mode. The recall consists of cleaning it and reprogramming the computer. Again, the problem was only with the Magnetti-Marelli ones in the NA 2002 S60's. Yours has the Bosch ETM so you should have no problems. I wouldn't totally ignore the message and do an oil change, etc.

Took the car to Volvo today, they said I need a new Bosch ETM $1075.00 plus a bunch of other work neglected by previous owner. Your right Bosch ETM not part of recall. Guess the Bosch ETM does have problems, glad I got a warranty with this car.
