New S60 T5 owner confused over struts...
Hey, just bought a 2001 S60 T5 and I need to replace the suspension. I'm looking to buy the parts myself and get a mechanic to do it for cheaper than the dealership.
I found a package on FCP Groton for $467 including:
8667253 x 2 - Front Strut Assemblies OEM Sachs!!!
9200406 x 2 - Rear Strut Assemblies OEM Sachs!!!
8634457 x 2 - 2 Front Sturt Mounts w/ Bearings
8646713 x 2 - 2 Front Spring Seats
274456 x 2 - 2 Front Sway Bar Links
The FCP site insists this fits all models of S60 from 01-04. When I search for the part # of the struts though I get sites listing the struts for all models except the T5.... The OEM Sachs front strut part # is 1602863 for a T5, I think.
Is this package from FCP going to fit my T5?
Thanks for helping out a newbie.

this message is based on experience. Here is what I would do.
I would call Darrell Waltrip Volvo in TN and tell them you are a Volvo forums member. Talk to Don or Jamie in parts.
Get genuine Volvo parts (yes the struts are indeed Sach's), but the other parts you mentioned are after market. The aftermarket parts will fail much earlier (especially the strut and shock spring mounts, and sway bar links).
I anticipate that the price you get for all the parts you mentioned using Genuine Volvo parts are going to be the same price.
Essentially you are getting dealer parts at a substantial discount. Waltrip sells them with only a 10% mark up instead of 50% at the dealer.

you can also check out www.eeuroparts.com genuine OEM parts at seriously honest pricing...
I'd do the struts from fcp and the rest, particularly rubber parts from eeuro or a stealer
