RE: New S60R
I would recommend the S60R, because I've heard many good things about it. It's an excellent machine, all that I can say. However, for real reviews from real "R" drivers, you may want to take a look at SwedeSpeed (www.swedespeed.com) in the "R Forum."

RE: New S60R
If you are buying a S60R, expect that you may have some strange problems, I has seen wheel bearings in the rear on several of the cars, We replaced a abs unit, which cost a couple of thousand dollars when out of warranty, a broken wire in the suspension wiring system, which was giving a front speed sensor code, the broken wire was in the rear. They are not problem free, but they are awesome cars to drive!!!!

RE: New S60R
I've put almost 5K on mine since I got it in July. Just wish it was faster :-) ---still stock though. My only complaint with the car (as many will attest) is the ridiculous turning ratio, my wife's outback makes it look like a 100" yacht compared to a scarab when it comes to simply turning the car into a parking spot or a U-turn. Outside of that and "my" need for another 100hp or so I love it :-)

I dont think 100 hp is too much of a stretch. I had an AWD Eclipse (turbo) had larger intercooler pipes with upgraded air filter and intake pipes, boost controller, upgraded exhaust from the downpipe back. Still had the stock intercooler and turbo, and shop estimated the car had 300 hp (210 hp stock) with the boost controller set on the low side.
It all depends how much u want to spend.

I didnt say there isnt a reasonable limit. And even if there was one we agreed on, that doesnt mean one cant want more power.
As for the financial aspect, unfortunately, some interests are more expensive than others. It all depends on what your interests are, and what one wants to invest.

RE: New S60R
Very true. I just think that 300hp is more than enough for my needs. Even the 268 in my T6 suffices. I do not use the car for racing. Yes, the S60R is beautiful as is and yes, with an ECU and other mods, it can be much better. In my opinion, however, if you're willing to invest a substantial amount of $$, you would be better off buying an M3 or M5 or other 'sports car' from the offset.
