Default No start engine performance reduced message

My wife was backing out of the garage this morning and the car died. 2003 s60 2.4T. The engine turns over but will not start. I can't find any active codes, but the message center sais reduced engine performance. I checked all of the fuses and they seem fine. I pressed the schrader valve in on the fuel rail and no gas came out. Fuel pump?

I would guess the fuel pressure sensor. If it is faulty it can cause that condition. Volvo has a recall on it. If it turns out not to be the sensor, at least you can rule that out. Here is the recall info: http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/pr...type=DrillDown

If the sensor is bad would that cause NO fuel to get to the rail?

Thanks - Bill

It is my understanding it can be a variety of things. You said you could not find any active codes. You may need a more comprehensive scan as it may be a peripheral item.

if your getting that message on the dash there will be codes. if you get a fuel code most likley it will be the PEM fuel pump module and maybe some corrosion in the harness
