Default OEM HID bulb replacement

Hi, I have a 2005 2.5T AWD sport Canadian model which came with OEM HID headlights and halogen daytime running lights. My passenger side HID bulb isn't working and I want to replace both with 6000k bulbs (way less money than Phillips OEM). Does anyone know if the OEM D2R bulbs are bi-xenon (high and low beam) or if the bulbs are just adjusted by a motor? Also, how do I get the bulbs out?

Does it light at all?
If it flickers or comes on for a short time then goes off the ballast is bad not the bulb.

I am not 100% sure on the Canadian models but the US models have a motor for high and low beam setup.
