I just scheduled for my oil consumption test. A bit over 51,000 miles on the car and put 1400 miles on since the last oil change. The dipstick level is down to the first line and all X marks are exposed. We will see what the results are of the consumption test but it seems that this car is using more oil than I am accustomed to using. Now in 1968 when I was driving beater cars, blue-smokers I could expect to see oil use but none of my other Volvo's used this much oil. Volvo USA was very nice on the phone but said I have to get this done before March 2024 because my time is done in March 2016.

 

Today I took my car to the dealer and they have started the oil consumption test process. The tech wrote:

"Preformed visual inspection, found no external oil leakage. Suspect internal oil consumption due to faulty rings. "
