Default p00017 Crankshaft Position Sensor

Yesterday I went to the local F-Stone to have oil chnged and tire roatation. I left and about 2 miles later noticed my Chk Engine light was glowing. Never lit before. I brought it back a few hours later and they did a diagnostic test and it blew the above code. What is this and how critical? Could it be related to something they did with the oil/filter change? I plan to go back and talk to the manager; I doubt they would have done anything malicious, but what a coincidence.
2003, 73k, AWD Turbo.

They could not have cused the DTC if all they did was a change oil. These sensors go bad usually at this mileage. Mine was replaced at 83K miles. Volvo electronics suck. Buy the CPS and replace it yourself, it's located at the back of engine by the fire wall. You have to reach for it and use a small ratchet w/c if I'm not mistaken uses a 10 mm socket. Make sure u don't over tighten the bolt when installing cuz housing made of lactic will break.
