Default Performance Upgrades S60 2.5T?

Hey guys I am new to the forum and just purchased my first Volvo. It's an 06' S60 2.5T. I picked this over the VW passat turbo, the wife was pissed, she wanted the VW...oh well.

Anyway I have read several threads and there seems to be many different opinions on performance upgrades. I am looking for the most that I can get out of the car for not a ton of money. I was looking at the air filter kit from eurosport tuning for $199.00, it's not alot of money, but is it worth it? I have a friend that's a mechanic and he is telling me that the best way to get the most horsepower is to upgrade the ECU and to put on a down pipe with a catback system. He customizes catbacks in his shop and from what he is telling me it's much cheaper that ordering online, and also it seems that you can only find the catback and downpipe for the S60R. Sorry for the novel, any help here is appreciate.

But the way the car has alot of ***** stock. I just put a set of Bridgestone Potenzas on today, what a difference in the handling.

Thanks.

Personally, I would start with the ECU from ipdtuning.. its the best upgrade you can really do on the car...
after that you will be looking at intake, exhaust.. but that will cost almost as much as the ECU without anywhere near as much gain..
