Default Pleas help! 2012 s60 t5 control arm

I recently had a serpentine belt snap any take out the inner passenger CV boot. After struggling with it for a while, I managed to get the boot replaced, but like a moron, when trying to get the axle out, I tore the boot around the lower ball joint, thinking I had to separate it from the spindle... then to make matters worse, I removed the front control arm bolt to get some additional clearance (aargh!!). Anyway, I have a new ball joint coming today, and my question is, do I completely remove the spindle from the strut to remove the control arm, or is there some trick to re-installing everything? There is a lot of info online about earlier year models, but everything is slightly different on this newer one. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
