Default Possible new 2004 S60 owner with questions

Hi all,

I'm new here and new to the Volvo world. I've always heard good things about Volvos, and have always liked the different looks.

I need to get a new (to me) car, and found a really nice looking S60 2.5T AWD with 138k miles for USD $3600 (including 90 day warranty).

I haven't checked it out in person yet, so can you guys give me some suggestions of what I need to check out that are known problem areas when I do go give it a test drive?

Hopefully I will be buying it in a few days, so I may become a regular here. Wish me luck and give me good advice!

Thanks all,
Brian

1. Do a Carfax search 2. Ask for a maintenance history. Key things to look for are when the timing belt was done (these cars are 10 years/120K miles so it should be on its second timing belt). 3. if you are not a DIY repair person, consider paying for a shop inspection. You don't want to buy a car and find out it needs a new PCV system or similar that doesn't show up on a test drive around the block. This inspection should including checking the condition of fluids and other signs of how was the car maintained.
