Default R/MIN problem

I own a 2001 S60 2.4T. I've been having a problem where the car begins to accelerate by itself. The R/min gauge goes up to about 1 and then suddenly drops to just above 0. After doing this repeatedly for a few seconds, the car will shut off by itself. Once I turn it back on, the problem seems to go away for the time being. Can anyone tell me what this can be? I recently got a full tune-up and replaced the timing belt, hoping it would solve the issue. Any help will be great!

Try cleaning the ETM body. Had the same problem, I followed "tech's" advice and everything came back to normal.

Hey thanks for responding! I just have to ask, and pardon my ignorance, but what is the ETM body?

Are the 01s included in the module recall?

Yes they are. I just got mine fixed at the dealer. There was a recall for the module and replacing it fixed my problem. Thank you!
