I have 2006 Volvo S60 2.5t. The radio does not work consistently. It will sometimes sounds just fine and other times it just seems likes it’s off (changing volume doesn’t do anything). When not working, pressing the next station button, it just continually goes through the stations and never settles on one (on am or pm). Also, sometimes itll be able to settle on a station but make no noise but be able to show the song/station name on the display. What could be the problem? Don’t know which exact radio unit it has but it has the 4 ***** to adjust the radio and no cassette.

 

does the CD player work ok? I'm assuming so as your symptom sounds like you have an antenna/antenna amp issue where it cuts out from time to time.

 

CD works fine. Previous owner said it was the amp or something like the at

Just bought a used 2013 XC60 with intermittent radio problems, radio turns on sometimes sound, sometimes not....

When turning radio on, if speakers pop as turning on, then NO sound...if I do not hear the speaker pop the sound works.

I first solved the problem by accident, radio went off driving car home from dealership(1st prob at dealer)....stopped car restarted turned radio off and on, heard nothing, gave up, turned on NAV and all of a sudden sound, switch to radio no sound, switch to cd sound, switch back to radio sound, lasted rest of 1 hr trip home...worked for 2 more days starting multiple time....

took to local Volvo dealer said they pulled multi codes and multiple DTC'S for AUD-IF will need to remove pass seat and check wiring at radio amp....rep also said problem might be solved by turning off SAT RADIO???

any idea of a solution??
