I have a 2003 S60. Both rear doors lock and unlock with the key fob and interior lock button, but the won't unlock when pulling the handle from the inside. The child safety locks are not engaged so I know that isn't the issue. The "Alarm System Service Required" message started going on around the same time this happened so I am wondering if that has something to do with it.

Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks for any help/advice you can offer.

 

the alarm module needs replacement.

You need to remove right front wheel and the plastic liner to get to it.

 

Same problem with my 2008. Still looking for a solution. Three dealers and 2 Volvo USA customer service people gave me 5 different answers. Did you get it figured out yet?
