Default Rear head rests

I have a 2001 S60 and would like to remove the rear head rests as I never have people in the back seat and I find they block my view. How do I remove them? I have tried but cannot budge them and I do not know if what do do or if they are somehow attached to some sensor or not.Any suggestions?

You may have a button on the dash to pop them forward. I call this my "backseat babysitter". When my kids act up, I hit the button and it pops them in the back of the head. Great obedience tool that Volvo came up with. lol.

Hahaha LOL I know I use it the same, or I open the moonroof while on the freeway, it calms them down a bit.

I remember the first time I pushed that button and my twin daughters were in the back, it was dark night and they started yelling at me, telling me if was moving the ... they did not know the word, so I kept pushingthe buttonwhile they kept pushing the headrests back up, what a fun drive it was, until my wife explained what was happening.

Later I finally read the manual and went ooooh.... aaaah... wow... (until then I only drove Toyotas, which are bullet proof but quite spartan inside).

The button should be next to the one commanding the STC.

Hey people
Glad to generate some volvo humor, but I still hav the problem I originally asked. My S60 rear headrests do not tilt , otherwise I would just do that. They are stuck on tight. Help me get them off.
Thanks in advance

I believe they are screwed to the seat. You would have to remove the seat and unzipper the rear cover on the seat and unscrew them.
