I looking at buying a second remote for my 2003 s60. is there a way you can program it yourself if you have a remote or the does a volvo dealer have to do it.

 

Dealer only can program it.

The Dealer charges alot.
They charge atleast 1 hour labor and $30.00 for the software.

Be very careful if you buy a remote from e-bay or any other place than the dealer.

If it doesn't have the paper with the Barcode and the program numbers then it is only good for looking at. It will never be able to be programmed.

You need to contact them and like I said above if the Numbers aren't with it then it is no good at all. I will be I believe a 16 and a 18 digit number.

 

My dealer quote was around 500 for the key and remote. Damn.
