Default Remove tail light 2002 s60 2.4t

Hello to all,

I am in need of assistance. How do I remove the tail light from my s60? I'm not referring to a bulb change, I need to remove the whole thing to replace it. The lense is all busted up.

Thanks in advance for any assistance that you can provide!!

There are 4 nuts on the backside holding the housing in place. Remove those and the connections and it should come out without any problems.

Thanks for such a quick answer! Is that done from inside the trunk then? Just pull the carpet out of the way?

Don't forget to remove the rubber seal/gasket around the rear of the tail lens... Remove it carefully so not to rip it & re-use it on the new replacement lens...You need the gasket to make a waterproof seal so no moisture will get into your tail light & cause further problems. When you buy a new lens from Volvo, a seal is not provided. Good luck.

Thanks. It was easier than i expected. I wouldn't have noticed the seal though.

That's what's great about Volvo's...they might need to be kept upto date with maintenance, but they are fairly easy to fix things yourself especially the S60. All you need is the proper guidance on how to do things. Good luck!
