Default Retrofitting Xenon headlights

Has anyone ever installed factory xenon headlight assemblies in a car that came with halogen. I have a 2005 S60 that I have done this to and the lights will flash on for a second and then stay off. I believe the CEM needs to be reprogrammed to recognize the xenon lights. No one seems to know if this is possible, including several dealers. Thanks, Greg

IIRC Volvo doesn't offer downloadable software for the conversion.
All the guys I know of have gone with aftermarket HID's kits to obtain better performance out of their headlights...

If anyone is interested, I believe I have come up with a reasonable solution. The xenon lights, when first started, draw too much current thus shutting off the power from the CEM as it thinks there is a short. I am redirecting the low beam power wire to the DRLs, which should avoid a bulb out warning, and also using that signal to activate a standard relay to power the HIDs. What I still hope to find out is whether the CEM is different between HID and halogen cars, or is it only a programming difference. Thanks again, I'll post again when done, as I am waiting for a seat belt tensioner to get rid of an airbag light to see if I have any bulb failure warnings. Greg
