2004 Volvo s60 2.5t 111250 miles (though I don't think that matters so much) but anyway today my sunroof acted weird, it took a few clicks to open. then on the way home from work it wouldn't open at all, I hear a click above the button sounds like a faint relay opening and closing but no noise from the motor, sunroof fuse is ok and I unplugged the battery touched the 2 leads together and no luck. any ideas?

 

oh also since the sunroof runs through the alarm i should mention that i have had the service alarm system warning on my dash for well over a year now
sunroof works fine with the fuse pulled from the alarm

 

Do you ever get an alarm system service needed message?

 

The siren is a module in the system in short it will affect the sunroof activation.
(We posted at the same time)

 

yeah I do, but it's said that since before I bought the car and has never seemed to adversely affect anything. granted the alarm doesn't blare but that's all.

 

and...it started working today
cant explain that one but i found the CEM (central electronic module) i did not realize there was a 4th module under the dash and i checked that but i could not tell if any of the dozens of relays were the sun roof or not.

im going to check some things and post an update because problems dont fix themselves
just for now i guess i wont open it if there is a chance of rain. it might decide not to want to close!
