I am the proud owner of a Volvo S60 d5 (53 plate) I have two issues that the local garage and myself have failed to solve, I don't realy want to go to the main dealer as it will cost an arm and a leg.
The first is an irregular rumble from under the rear of the car, it has been up on the ramp everything is solid and secure, I have emptied the boot and taken out the spare wheel but the rumble is still there.
The second issue is the servise required message pops up on start up, this is anoying more than a problem.

 

Is it a low frequency rumble? Does it get louder or faster as you speed up?
What age is the car? Most of the forum users here are in the US or overseas, so the UK method of determining vehicle age by when the plates were released doesn't help us.
I have no idea about the service notice, I expect a dealer or someone with a code reader needs to clear it.
