So my almost still brand new 07 2.5T is in for a few squeeks and rattles, and an entire headliner replacement, and i have a 2.4i s40 as a loaner... is it just me, or have those of you that have driven both thing the S40 actually handles betters, is smoother, has better brakes and drives more like a European car (aka BMW) than the S60 does? Or is there something wrong with my S60 soft brakes, rolls in corners and generally feels like it's kinda floating with no attachment to the road?

 

A bmw is a german car that is RWD and LOves corners. A volvo is the exact opposite. It's a Swedish car that is FWD and is afraid of corners. That is what it comes down to.

 

I love my S60 and never EVER had a problem with it. Hated the beemers. If you liked em so much whyd you stop buyin em? As I used to be a volvo mechanic, the S60 was ther car we saw in the shop the least. The newer s40's (the 04 and above model)were the ones we saw the most with the most problems.

 

ive driven hundreds of cars in my liftime from ferrari to yugo,s and my s60s brakes are spot on also i would rate the body roll as about average its not the best but its a long way from some of the worst!
