Hey guys on my 02 s60t Ive been having issues with dead batterys. I had the battery tested it was ok. My question is after the car is parked the blower fan will kick on once in awile even after setting for a long time. I think this is whats causing the dead battery. Is it normal for the blower fan to run? the car only has 30,000 miles on it and is under warrenty thanks in advance for your replies........Jerry

 

Jerry - If you have ECC (Electronic Climate Control) with the interior air quality system, it is normal for the blower fan to run for 7 minutes on high speed, 50 minutes after you have left the car. It does this only after the a/c compressor has been run, as far as I know..

Thanks Lynn sounds like it doing what its supposed to do guess ill have the altenator tested it did it about 2 weeks ago so i charged the battery and it did it again this weekend only thing i can think of is the battery loses its charge it is the stock volvo battery maybe its got a bad cell ...........thanks for your replys........Jerry

 

Could very well be a bad Battery.

The blower motor should run about 10 to 15 minutes.
