just a quick question if you have the time,ive just purchased a s60 2001 t5 geartronic but it is drinking the petrol like theres no tomorrow.£80-85 fills the tank and on that it does around 250 miles!the electric display says the mpg is 17.5.ive changed the mass air flow sensor, the spark plugs and air filter and nothing has changed.just wondering if this is usuall for this model or theres something else wrong.

My '01 T5 averages about 18-20 mpg. Mostly city driving with a heavy foot.

 

Its normal, I've got a 2001 T5 V70 geartronic and it drinks worse than my v8 Range rover did! Its heavy and very fast, it was never gonna be cheap to run but considering an LPG conversion. I reckon to get 25mpg on a motorway and 14 around town.
