s60 2004 dashboard become black only engine light is on i have to remove the cable from the battery to initialise the computer. it happens oftne after o e hour of driving.. no commands are working .until i put of the car. when i turn the key sometimes it works sometimes i have to remove the battery cable to reset the computer.
any solution????

Those units (DIM) have been known to have issues. You can try removing it (disconnect the battery when doing so) and cleaning the connection.

Is your battery less than 4-5 years old? Before trying to start the car, measure voltage at the battery to confirm it's over 12V. 12.6V is ideal.

Also, if your engine light is on, check it for a code before disconnecting the battery
