Default S60 2005 2.4, low oil level warning (dipstick says otherwise)

My S60 2005 2.4 got its oil changed a week ago, they put in Total 0W30. I guess the previous oil was 5W40, don't know the brand since this was the first oil change we've done to this car after buying it couple of months ago. The guy at the service said the previous oil was much stiffer than 0W30 (well it was old oil, but definitely not 0W30). The guy at the service had wondered if the 0W30 is the correct one for this car, but since the data sheets he had had shown it's ok he had used that instead of 5W40.

Now, after driving for 30-40 minutes, when the engine gets to normal working temperature (it is around 10F here atm) we get "Low Oil Level" warning with yellow triangle. If we continue driving, a red triangle lights up with "Low Oil Level, pull over" message. After I first saw this I let the car cool down and checked the oil level from dipstick, levels were just fine, if anything, there was a bit too much of oil (or the dipstick got oil from the measuring tube). When started again after a cooldown, there's no warning lights whatsoever. After the engine gets warm again, bam, yellow triangle.

Could this be caused by the different viscosity of the oil? I doubt the oil level sensor could've been broken right after an oil change. Another possibility is of course that the sensor itself is dirty, but again, why would it start giving false readings right after an oil change.

I called the service who did the oil change, they said they could try and change the oil to 5W40 but I wouldn't want to start just guessing what could be wrong.

I'll reply here if someone has a similar problem. Changing 0W30 to 5W40 didn't help, I ended up disabling the oil level sensor (located under the car in the oil pan) by disconnecting the wire going to the sensor. 2 minute job. Sensor must be either dirty or faulty, gonna buy a new one to the next service.
