S60 maintainence: Would you buy a 2014 S60?
I'm new to Volvos, my 23-year-old Saab Aero having recently expired - my old vehicle was pretty rusted out after 19 years in the road salt here in Upstate New York.
I really like the styling and features of the S60, especially the R-Design trims. I see a lot of used S60s out there on the Web, and am wondering if a 10-year-old one, T6 R-Design, Polestar tuned, maybe 90K on the odo - might be a good choice at $12K. I have not been able to get a look at the CarFax service records just yet. A longtime Volvo fan here in my industrial park seems to think if the maintenance has been uniformly good on this T60, maybe it might be a good purchase. I'd want to see a photo of the underside before I go have a look, as this car is a couple hundred miles away from me in a large multi-brand auto dealer's lot.
I no longer do all that much long-distance driving, and would otherwise just buy either a CPO or maybe a 2020 S6 if I could find one with the right options. Do S60's start to need really expensive repairs at 90K if they've been well-maintained? I'm now driving maybe 9K per year.
TIA for your help!

only concern I'd have on a 2014 S60 is whether the engine falls into the series with oil consumption issues. You should be able to google around to see what engines/years have been subject to advisories. unfortunately for those models the resolution is new pistons/rings.
Thanks. It's really strange out there these days in the used car market: prices seem to be tumbling back down from the Covid crazy high levels. The S60 in question is a couple hundred miles away, but despite several emails to and from the seller (a large non-Volvo megadealer), all I seem to receive are most likely AI-generated responses asking when I want to come in and test-drive the car. Without a CarFax and some photos of the underside in hand (potential rust, as is now in New England), I'm not going anywhere just yet. I guess I'll just keep looking. I appreciate your help!
