Default A4 or S60?

I'm looking at both the Audi A4 Avant and the Volvo S60. Both are 2011 models. I have never owned either but I know that both are great rides and offer performance, safety and comfort. I am however, looking for an All wheel drive vehicle that will stand the test of time and hold up to the 17-22,000 miler per year that I will put on it. I plan on keeping the vehicle for 5-7 years and to be honest I'm worried about the reliability of both models. I read lots of positives about both but I seem to read more posts about failures, costly repairs and people who are just plain fustrated and sorry that they bought one! Can someone give me feedback on either or both and tell why you would (or wouldn't) suggest one over the other? Reliability and durability are most important to me in making my choice. Also, any knowledge about general repair costs after 50-75K miles would be helpful as well. .... As always, thanks for your help!!

*** I should add that I am also a little worried about Volvo's ownership issues and whether or not Volvo will even be a brand sold in the USA within the next 3 years. **

It all comes down to personal preference really...
The old A4 vs S60 I would have gone for the sportier A4, but the new S60 is really different to the old one with better driving dynamics and more power..
Personally I'm biased towards volvo so I would reccomend the s60, also because there are less on the road meaning that you would look more original driving one..

Concerning maintenance and parts, I dont think the volvo and audi prices will be much different so expect the same there...

Finally, concerning Volvo being sold in the US, you have no worries about that.. Volvo has always had solid sales in the US and will never leave the market, i guarantee it... There are far too many loyal buyers around here for that, plus the new models seems to have more mass-market appeal.

In the end it comes down to your test drive and how you feel about the two.. Personally i'd do the s60
