Default S60--New used with serious issues.

Bought a 2006 S60 with about 100K miles less than a month ago for my daughter to use. Had my mechanic check it out and he ok'ed it. Car had some minor issues to start with and we came up with a schedule to address them. Needed a new timing belt and new fuel level sensors in the gas tank. About a week after my mechanic installed the new timing belt, there were spots on the garage floor. Seems the power steering pump had started to seep. Mechanic made that fix and on the same we get the car back, the car dies on the road--fuel pump fails. But--when the car is hauled to the shop, there is power steering fluid still leaking from the splash pan--after the shop supposedly fixed it. To make matters worse, once the fuel tank is reassembled, the car starts giving off fault codes, saying the traction control module is bad among other things.

I am thinking either the dealership goosed the car, and/or my mechanic failed to catch a few things and/or allowed power steering fluid to seep into places it should not go. What's the likelihood of all this things going wrong within the space of seven days?

Addendum-- now they are saying it might be the ECM. If so, how on Earth does the main computer go bad --and is there a way of hiding such a fault to make a sale on the car?
