S60 Oxygen Sensor Location

S60 Oxygen Sensor Location
Greetings,
I'm quite certain my front oxygen sensor has failed based on the fault code, symptoms, and searching this site.
Where exactly is the front oxygen sensor located on my turbo S60? Can I see it from under the hood, or do I need to get under the vehicle? I know what it looks like, just cant find where it is located.
I'm sure once I find it, it'll be one of those "You must be blind" things...
Thanks in advance,
Greg

When at the front of the car hood open back of the engine, passenger side you wil,l see a heat shield with the o2 wire going under it, It will have a silver heat shield wrap on it. remove the heat shield 2 12mm bolts . One at the passenger side has a spring . The other is a the down-pipe.. You will need a o2 wrench check with local Auto parts store for size . When you have the top removed trace to the other end. Be very careful when unplugging. The plastic gets very brittle with the heat from the engine over time.. GL

Awesome, thanks!
Okay, I have found the sensor and have purchased the replacement.
I can't see where the plug end goes. I follow the cable from the sensor around the top/back of the engine, then it dissapears in the back on the driver's side. What is the best method to access the plug?
Another question, why do I need an oxygen sensor wrench? Why can't I just use an open ended 22mm wrench?
Thanks for all of your help!

The reason i used an O2 wrench was because the open ended has a limited amount of catch and with the small amount of space it may take 30+ 1/4inch turns to get it tight. The wrench is not a must just made the job easier . As far as the location of the connection if i remember right i followed it from below but unhooked it from above. GL
